Join one of our working groups!

Every little bit matters

Dear Energize Framingham subscribers:

Do you love solar? Heat pumps? Composting? Want to see net zero buildings? More thoughtful land use? Or just want to get the word out?

Then join one of our new working groups!

At our 2024 planning meeting on February 3rd (thank you to all who came!), we identified some great areas where Energize Framingham can focus its efforts. We now need more brains and hands to meet our ambitious goals. Even if you have only 1-2 hours per month to be involved, you can make a difference!

To get started, please fill out our Google questionnaire to select your interest(s) and indicate your preferred times for meeting. Group coordinators will then reach out with specifics and Zoom links.

Group

Goal

Residential heat pumps and solar

To support outreach and education to encourage adoption of fossil-fuel-free heating/cooling and electricity.

Community solar

To support outreach and education around getting power from a solar “farm,” saving money without having to get solar panels.

School solar

To advocate for installation of solar on school roofs and parking lots.

Specialized Building Code

To educate and advocate for passage of the Code by the City Council as soon as possible.

Forest protection/agriculture/land use

Goals to be refined based on participants’ interests.

School food waste composting

To support the current project at Dunning Elementary and expand cafeteria composting to one or more schools.

Communications/outreach

To engage and educate Framingham residents and government officials and advocate for our agenda.

You’re also cordially invited to our monthly meetings, held every fourth Thursday of the month. They’re a chance to share progress updates, get guidance and ideas, and share climate and sustainability news. The next one is Thurs., Feb. 22, 7-8:30 p.m. on Zoom (please RSVP to get the link).

And please join us on March 28th at Exhibit A for a Happy Hour from 6 to 8 p.m.!

Best wishes,
Energize Framingham steering committee
